
The road for training of women to be medical doctors in Canada has not always been smooth. Many outstanding women overcame obstacles and paved the way that allowed women to train in Canada and practice in Canada. They then went on to advocate for both women in medicine and the health of all women.
This book writes the history of these outstanding women leaders and the organization they formed in 1924 – The Federation of Medical Women of Canada. Beginning in 1924 to the present, there are many interesting stories contained in the book’s pages. It is not meant to be a scientific document but an easy read of the history of Canada’s women medical doctors and the Federation of Medical Women of Canada.
