HPV Prevention Week

HPV Prevention Week

October 2-8, 2022

#CANADAvsHPV/#HPVPW22

Ever wanted to be a part of a National Campaign focused on eliminating cancer caused by Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)?  Join the FMWC and numerous supporting organizations and individuals who are committed to preventing the spread of HPV and the cancers it can cause.

HPV Prevention Week brings Canadians together to engage in a series of events and initiatives to increase awareness of an infection that is estimated to affect more than 75% of sexually active women and men in their lifetime.  The human papilloma virus causes genital warts, but persistent disease can cause six different types of cancer: Oropharyngeal, Penile, Anal, Vaginal, Cervical, and Vulvar.

With the theme of #CANADAvsHPV, HPV Prevention Week is lead by Dr. Vivien Brown, and is encouraging doctors, nurses, public health officials, NGOs, pharmacists, patients, government, and industry to work together to educate all Canadians to close the preventative care gap and encourage behaviour that could ultimately save lives.
