Dr. Kimberly Kelly

Region II Representative: Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut

Hello everyone. My name is Kim Kelly and I have been elected to be a Regional representative for AB, SK, MB, NT and NU. My pronouns are she/her and I am a settler on Treaty 6 territory. I am a cis-gender white woman who grew up in a middle class family in Alberta. My mom and dad were the first in their families to attend College, my dad as a mature student graduating at the age of 40. I am a first generation physician, who has been divorced and remarried, and have two sons with my second husband. I have experienced sexual harassment and gender bias over my medical career. During the #metoo movement, I was compelled to act and chose to publicly share my story with an intent of affecting positive change in medicine. I have been a community leader for 15 years, a physician leader for 10 years, and was honoured to be selected as a 2019 Canadian Women in Medicine (CWIM) Inspiring Woman Physician recipient. My current leadership roles include Lead of the Equity in Medicine national team, Alberta Health Services (AHS) North sector Medical Representative in Diversity and Wellness, founder of the Edmonton Women in Health Network, and Board member for Equal Voice. I continue to learn and unlearn, to challenge myself to listen more and admit to my mistakes, and to grow in the spirit of reconciliation and anti-racist action
