Dr. Azad is an innovative academic physician focused on advancing women’s health services, leading integrated curriculum development, fostering women’s career advancement, and promoting gender equity. Dr. Azad achieved the academic rank of full professor in 2011 for her scholarship as a clinician teacher and researcher. As a geriatrician in full clinical practice, she has held many leadership positions. Her clinical research focuses mainly on heart failure and cardiovascular disease and gender differences in health – particularly in older women. Dr. Azad’s interest is in both the area of patient care quality & safety and in the area of cardio-geriatrics program for the frail elderly.
