Dr. Tanis Adey currently holds the appointments of Associate Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education and Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She is a consultant Adult Psychiatrist with the Mental Health and Addictions Program at Eastern Health in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Adey completed a Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies at the Technical University of Nova Scotia, a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and Psychiatry Residency Program at Memorial University and a Master of Medical Education at the University of Dundee, Scotland. Through the Canadian Society of Physician Leaders, she has received the credential of Certified Canadian Physician Executive. Dr. Adey’s research interests include professionalism and mistreatment as well as interprofessional education. Dr. Adey feels honoured to be a member of the Board of Directors of FMWC.
Dr. Adey enjoys running, hiking, cycling, yoga, photography and bridge and she relies on family, friends, exercise, hobbies and good chocolate to add balance to her life.
