2017 PAP Campaign
Oct 16, 2017 - Oct 20, 2017
For Cervical Cancer
To help fight cervical cancer, we are inviting you to register today to hold a Pap test clinic. On October 16-20, 2017, we will be asking Canadian women to be sure they contact your clinic to prevent cervical cancer through appropriate information, immunization Pap testing. These open clinics are available to any woman who is due or overdue for a Pap Test, not only your own patients
The National Cervical Cancer Awareness Week, also known as the PAP (Prevention & Awareness Program), is a Federation of Medical Women of Canada (FMWC) initiative. It’s our 10th year and we’re growing strong!
Again this year, we will be working in partnership with the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada, Society of Canadian Colposcapists, as well as several other medical associations and provincial partners, to strengthen our campaign and to increase awareness and access to cervical cancer screening. Our ultimate goal remains the same: to reach out to women across Canada, increasing awareness, encouraging women to have Pap tests and/or HPV vaccination done, and providing access to health care services.
We would ask YOU to consider participating again and supporting this worthwhile campaign, whether you host a clinic or help to spread the word!
Health-care professionals do not need to be females, FMWC members or even physicians to participate. We are pleased to have had Nurse Practitioners led clinics in the past. Together we can improve access to health care services, increase the number of Pap tests and help to prevent more cases of cervical cancer!
Please note that the participating clinics will have access to an easily downloadable Participant E-kit (PDF) that will include a tip sheet, a color poster in both official languages, a local news release template, patient education brochures in both official languages A post-campaign online evaluation survey will be sent to participants by the end of October. We look forward to working with you on the 2017 Campaign!
