The Federation of Medical Women of Canada’s Annual General Meeting and Educational Assembly is an annual event where we welcome physicians at all stages of their careers, as well as medical students and residents, and provide opportunities to enhance their clinical expertise with practical tools, to grow their networks, and to celebrate physician leadership.
The theme of this year’s conference was Evolving with Confidence and the educational sessions provided the latest information on women’s health and well-being so participants can create a better future of health. Our goal was to provide participants with knowledge and skills to make positive change, both within themselves and for their patients. This year’s conference explored issues of social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion; medicine and the environment; and global health. We proudly featured engaging talks from daring and inspirational leaders from across Canada and abroad.
The Federation of Medical Women of Canada (FMWC) recognizes that we must understand where we have come from and move forward in advocacy and leadership, learning from past experiences and present issues. As we celebrated our 98th year, our aim was to empower each delegate to understand the unique role and influence women physicians have in healthcare, to collaborate and to inspire, to find partnerships, and to build a better future for all.
