Job Posting – Medical Director, Physician Health Program, OMA
The Medical Director, Physician Health Program is accountable for developing, implementing, and managing the clinical services of the Physician Health Program (PHP). The PHP, based in Toronto, provides a range of services to physicians, residents and medical students across the province and supportive services to family members. PHP services align with the belief that physician health matters and that education, early intervention and treatment are important in helping to sustain a healthy medical workforce. It is the mandate of the PHP to educate and promote the biological, psychological, social and spiritual health of physicians. The PHP will serve the needs of physicians at risk of, or suffering from substance use disorders, and/or mental health disorders through prompt intervention, referral to treatment, monitoring and advocacy.

The new Medical Director for the Physician Health Program will possess at least 10 years in clinical practice experience and leadership experience as with various health related stakeholders and organizations, media and public. They will have a considerable knowledge and background in addiction medicine, mental health, occupational medicine and risk management in the context of health. This training and experience will be complemented by experience as a physician leader. They will be licensed to practice medicine in Ontario. The new Medical Director will be joining PHP at a time where physicians, residents and medical learners’ well-being is more critical than ever.
