Member Opportunity – Women’s Health and Diversity Initiative

My name is Myriam Deroo, I am a Talent Acquisition specialist working with Calian.
Calian is proud of our long-standing contractual relationship with the Department of National Defence (DND), providing healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are embedded within DND Medical and Dental Clinics and are integral in supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members.

Calian is looking to connect with Obstetrics, Gynecology and Family Physicians specializing in Women’s Health, and interested in the review and development of healthcare research and policies for a new Women’s Health and Diversity initiative.

These positions are integral components of wellness and health care activities that will drive sustained and long-term healthcare optimization for women and underrepresented groups and contribute to a CAF culture in which every member is fully and safely enabled in their chosen career.
Data and research will continue to drive how healthcare is delivered in the CAF; however, research has historically been androcentric, and male centered in the perceptions of these issues. One of the primary goals of this new initiative is breaking the barrier and creating a gender diverse program that focuses on women's, gender diverse, and reproductive health. Another is to build a foundational team of Subject Matter Experts to guide health care delivery, identify current capability gaps, inform to improve care models, promote equitable access, and establish sustainable, inclusive health care programs for the CAF.
